BSLA had seven representatives in Washington DC between April 23 and 25 attending Advocacy Day, Chapter Presidents Council, and the Board of Trustees meetings – all hosted by ASLA. During Advocacy Day, our team visited every MA and ME senatorial and congressional office speaking of important issues in landscape architecture. President Tim Nickerson presented the ‘story of’ BSLA Fieldbook to the 100 or so attendees of CPC. Cheri Ruand, President-Elect, and Vicki Carr, Chapter Office, also attended this day and a half meeting. BSLA Trustee, Jeanne Lukenda, and ASLA VP of Government Affairs, Tom Doolittle attended the Board of Trustees meeting (2 days). Everyone also attended a reception at the ASLA headquarters and reviewed plans of the new building plan as well as the Green Street initiative.
