This workshop starts in the classroom and ends in the field.


Soil is the vital but often overlooked foundation of any landscape, influencing everything from site hydrology to suitability for specific plant species. Internationally known soil scientist John Swallow will teach us the essentials of soil and site analysis that a designer needs to know to create a landscape plan that is well tailored to its site, and to develop the sustainable practices vital to the long-term success of a project.
