Play for All: A Boston Story

Design Museum Mornings with Chris Donohue, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates

BSLA is pleased to sponsor January’s Design Museum Mornings.

Learn about the collaborative process of designing for inclusive play and discovery. Chris Donohue, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates is the design lead and project manager of Martin’s Park, a project designed to celebrate the lives of 8-year old Martin Richard and the 4 other victims lost in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.  Martin’s family took on this ambitious project as a way to give back to the city of Boston, and to spread Martin’s message of No More Hurting People Peace.

Challenging the typical models of accessibility and inclusion, January’s Design Museum Mornings will explore a diverse set of opportunities for challenge, exploration, and play that attract users of all abilities.  Complete with breakfast and coffee, this month’s Design Museum Mornings is not to be missed!
