Inside/Out: FRANKLIN PARK

In person, outdoors. Free.

2.0 LA CES HSW

.

We are thrilled to celebrate Boston Design Week, the 200th anniversary of Frederick Law Olmsted's birth, World Landscape Architecture Month, AND to kick off our 2022 BSLA Inside/Out series with a walking tour of Franklin Park.

Franklin Park: Past, Present, Future

As the geographic heart of the city of Boston, Franklin Park serves as the meeting ground of the Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, Roslindale, and Jamaica Plain neighborhoods, drawing in visitors from throughout the region and around the world.

For over a century, Franklin Park has been a lively and beloved center of recreation, gathering, and discovery for the Boston community. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted as part of the Emerald Necklace, Franklin Park remains Boston’s largest green space.

Reed Hilderbrand Landscape Architects, supported by Agency Landscape + Planning, MASS Design Group, and an interdisciplinary team, have embarked on a planning process for the City of Boston to study the park’s current strengths and potential improvements, including its landscape health, relationship to adjacent communities, and uses.

Join us outside for a walking tour of Franklin Park with the landscape architects leading its renovation.
