Climate change is here. Our outdoor spaces -- backyards to schoolyards, parks to forests to watersheds -- have vital roles to play in mitigation and adaptation.
ASLA has released a Climate Action Plan, with the ambitious goal of making landscape architecture projects and practices zero emission by 2040. How can we get there?
Please join us for the second annual virtual, regional summit to discuss climate action through landscape architecture & design in New England. We’ll hear about climate issues that cities and towns, rural and suburban areas are experiencing in the landscape today, along with actions underway, and that need to grow. Keynotes and “lightning talks” will share a lively array of projects, and we’ll discuss measuring impact; a vital design consideration as we look ahead.
The summit was recorded. Find that video and related materials here.

ALSO: An Open Call for Lightning Talks (the call is closed)
As part of the 2nd Annual LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE + CLIMATE ACTION in New England Virtual Summit, we invite a diverse constellation of speakers to briefly share their work.
The summit will include 10 presenters who will each speak for 3 min about a project, policy, plan, or other work that they are doing that somehow addresses climate resilience in the landscape.
This year, we are especially interested in how you are MEASURING the impact or effectiveness (or lack of effectiveness) of climate resilience measures. What are you learning? How would you like to measure, quantify, or otherwise evaluate effectiveness. Can we all learn together?
Propose something here by Tuesday, April 25. Speakers will be notified by April 28.
