BSLA K-12 Outreach + PARKing Day Planning

Online.

Please join us to plan landscape architecture outreach to youth for PARKing Day 2023! PARKing Day is a global day in which parking spaces are temporarily transformed into mini parks, happening this year on Friday, September 15. We like to use PARKing Day as a means to introduce kids and teens to landscape architecture. ASLA’s overall theme this year is Pollinators.

We are planning installations in Portland, Maine; Northampton/Amherst, Mass, and Boston.

Do you already have a PARKing Day installation in mind? Awesome. Let’s connect and support each other.

Whether you want to be out on site on September 15, help behind the scenes on your own time before then, or just find out more, we need you!

Register for the Zoom.

Ninth graders led the setup, and they completely changed the street outside of their school for that day. Boston’s Deputy Chief of Urban Design, landscape architect Diana Fernandez, ASLA, stopped by to say hello.
