Join us outside for a walking tour of Union Square, led by the landscape architects and other professionals leading its development.

Union Square, Somerville’s historical center and earliest and largest commercial district, is in the midst of a shift. Over the past several years, the neighborhood has up-zoned its building code, welcomed the opening of the long awaited MBTA Green Line Extension, and seen a wave of investment unparalleled in its past.

While the results of these processes have afforded Union Square many things, none may be more important than the opportunity to reexamine the way the neighborhood prioritizes, uses, and designs its open space.

Join us as we explore the changing landscape of Union Square and learn about how the neighborhood’s various open space projects, policies, and organizations are shaping its future.
