Congratulations to 2023 ASLA Fellows
Call for Suggestions for 2024
from asla.org:
Fellowship is among the highest honors the ASLA bestows on members and recognizes the contributions of these individuals to their profession and society at large based on their works, leadership and management, knowledge, and service. The designation of Fellow is conferred on individuals in recognition of exceptional accomplishments over a sustained period of time. Individuals considered for this distinction must be full members of ASLA in good standing for at least ten years and must be recommended to the Council of Fellows by the Executive Committee of their local chapter, the Executive Committee of the ASLA, or the Executive Committee of the Council of Fellows.
Congratulations to our chapter's newest Fellows, who became FASLA at a ceremony earlier this week at the 2023 ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture. Congratulations Kate Kennen, John Kett, Jeanne Lukenda, and Kirt Rieder.
Looking ahead: our BSLA Fellows Nominating Committee will meet in the next few weeks to determine the slate of candidates from Massachusetts and Maine that BSLA's Executive Committee will recommend for 2024. We have over 150 members who meet the minimum eligibility requirement of ten years of membership.
If there's someone you think should be a FASLA candidate from Maine or Massachusetts this next cycle, please email Kaki or Gretchen with that person's name and a brief paragraph as to why by Thursday, November 9.
BSLA's general approach is to nominate a slate that balances geography, firm size, practice type, category (works/knowledge/leadership/service), demographics, etc.
Our BSLA Fellows Nominating Committee includes Michael Boucher, FASLA; Mark Lindhult, FASLA; Cheri Ruane, FASLA; Tom Ryan, FASLA, Cynthia Smith, FASLA; Shauna Gillies Smith, FASLA, and Laura Solano, FASLA, with past president Kaki Martin, FASLA, serving as chair. Marion Pressley, FASLA, and JP Shadley, FASLA, have 'cycled off' the committee after many years of service. Please join us in saying Thank You.
