Landscape Designer
CBA is a small collaborative landscape architecture office; we approach our practice with an emphasis on imaginative, solutions-oriented design. Our work is strongly grounded in our conversations with our clients, communities, and project stakeholders; our attention to the individual characteristics of each site; and our thoughtful approach to sustainable design. In particular, our public projects prioritize an inclusive and broad-reaching community design process that serves to strengthen the final results. Our intentionally small firm size allows CBA to be nimble in our relationships with clients and collaborators. All members of our staff are involved in all stages of projects, from feasibility studies through construction administration.
We are seeking a creative, motivated landscape designer with a landscape architectural degree and 3-5 years of experience for a full-time position. Our projects include many public parks and playgrounds, schools and early education facilities, and institutional and residential properties with a wide range of programs; visit our website (www.cbaland.com) to see the variety of our work.

• Demonstrate strong design and critical thinking skills
• Be attentive to detail
• Be comfortable taking initiative while also asking pertinent questions as needed
• Work well as part of a small project team
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have prior experience with construction document preparation
• Be fully proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Additional desirable - but not required - qualifications include: proficiency in Sketchup, Rhino, or other digital modeling programs; licensure in Massachusetts; interest or experience managing office IT; interest or experience in marketing.
CBA operates in a hybrid in-person/work from home model, with 3 days per week in the office and the option of choosing remote or in-office work for the other 2 days. Our physical office is in East Cambridge, near the MBTA Green Line, Red Line, and several bus lines. We value work-life balance, and we are proud of our record of developing capable and proficient Landscape Architects.
Benefits include but are not limited to: a 401(k) plan with 6% employer match; $1,000 annual professional development stipend; and enhanced PFML benefits.
